Hello old friend!

Dear blog,

I miss you.

The way you entertain long lonely hours, the way you allow me to express my inner fashion nerd, the way my stats climb after a successful post…ahhh. Memories.

Alas blog, its not you, its me. Or my laptop rather. But as soon as I acquire a new internet machine its gonna be on and crackin’.

Since April:

• I have been jobless
• I have been pulling off effortless summer hair (I think)
• I have been ‘gypsy livin’ ( I will dedicate a post to explaining this )
• I have been soul searching
• I have been happy

 

As for all the readers who have been patiently awaiting some more fashion/make-up/lifestyle tid-bits I love all of you & miss my lil blogger fam bam. I cannot wait to update and share all the amazingness that is my life.

In the words of a semi-famous rock band- ‘you’re not gonna live forever girl, gotta grab life with both hands’.  Well thank you Snow Patrol, I think I shall.

Hoppy Easter Y’all

So first off, Thomas Kinkade past away & I feel so many feelings about this. He has been a huge part of my life. He lived in my area of Nor Cal  and immortalized our region in a way that can never be undone. I have always admired his work as well as his persononal mantra. He has always been a pillar in his community & has done so much good in local schools. My heart goes out to his family. Here is my most favorite painting by him :

On a (much) lighter note I am so excited for Easter! I know it’s kinda cheesey since I am 20-something with no kids, but remember- I have not been home for five years of Easters! So there. I cannot wait for the delicious food & all the family time…oh and the gorgeous weather!

There is nothing better then Spring in the northern valley.  I dont know what I am going to wear tomorrow, and I am kinda freaking out! Here are a few ideas :

fashionable finds!

Hey y’all. Once again, we come together on a stormy Saturday. No worries here though, as I plan on having a cozy low-key kinda weekend.

I have  been searching high and low for some must-haves to spend my tax $$ on and I think i have found quite a few things. Ok too many things. Ok wayyyy too many things.

So I have narrowed it down to afew of my cannot live without styles. I plan on shopping a lil this weekend and trying to match up some outfits like:

I really love this whole outfit for a conservative setting-think brunch with the family? oh, plus the bottle of vino!

This is super cute for spring! As always, love the coral. Prolly something i would wear to work!

 

 

On a side note, I am sure we are all wayyy too aware that summer is a lil too close for comfort. Spring break is def that realization that I will be living in a bikini. So I have been living on spinach salad, tuna, whole grains & fruit.(Ok, not everyday, but I am trying!) We shall see. I am still optimistically searching for bikinis, however moo-moos are also in the search feed here are a couple of the bikinis I have been eyeing:

Green Beer & Rain Boots

Happy St. Pattie’s Day!

Hello all, I really hope these past few weeks have been as good to you as they have been to me. I really have so many wonderful things to share its def too much to type. I am almost thinking of starting a Vlog but I am not sure where to begin or if it is something that would appeal to readers? cuz sometimes I just wanna read a nice old fashioned blog & have no frills. But we will see. So yea, back to amazing ness. I have been so busy with work and family and friends I know I have completly neglected all of you, and for that I am deeply sorry

On a brighter note. I have done so many cool things! First off I have STARTED  a pinterest. I know I am late on this bandwagon, but I just dont have much time for it. My boards are def a work in progress, but here is the link if you all want to check out some of my fashion boards.

I really like the website, and could see it becoming a bad habit if I had enough time to waste! I especially love the fact that its a good place for people who maybe aren’t designers or fashionistas to get a lil fix for whats new and cool in this big bad world we are a part of.

IT’S OFFICIAL….LY

My birthday month!

What’s new everyone?

 

So lemme share a lil something-something with y’all. My sister is a star. Like a bonafide superstar. She is in the midst of a weeklong running play and last night she surprised her bf with a lil number at the end. Inviting him to her dance (diff highschools). In front of everyone. With backup singers/dancers. Blow your mind right? Any ways, it was so cute I had to video tape it. & put it on Facebook. So as soon as I figure out how to work my internet machine I will upload it onto my page for the world to see. ( Cuz I know the whole world prettymuch sees this right?)

 

Guess what else  everyone? The other day I got a super-classy invite to………….the maker’s mark ambassadors ball!!

I am so excited and I already have some designer friends that what to dress me for the event!

I am so excited because lemme tell ya, this girl has been all work and no play lately.

So back to the ball. The first one (oh, yea did I mention it’s a three-part celebration?) Is being held in Austin TX! How perfect is that/ I get to see all my old country pals & go to a super classy affair?

Win-win.

Not to mention that hotel is leg.en.dary.

& that’s just the first one!

The second one is in SF which I am equally excited to go to!

 

Oh, and lemme tell you my color combos for spring —–ready??—-coral & navy. Ohmagosh. I had no idea how good they look together and how sophisticated yet fashionable it is. What I am loving right now/ Navy dresses with just a pop of coral, say belt and nails? Shoes and hat-a get my drift? I knew you would! I mean it’s a pretty surefire way to get noticed while still looking like you could care less.

I have a confession to make, I really love off the wall looks as well, even though you would never see me sporting these styles, I secretly love them. Guilty pleasure time:

straight up weight up + confession Saturday

 

 

So a midst all this fashion lovin, I have a confession(or two)

Nothing, not even the most gorgeous perfectly planned outfit will look good on you…if you don’t feel good about you. Make sense?

This is why I am jumpin on the new year-new you band wagon.

Let me be honest, I am no expert in this.

All I know if I could just rewind a few months and put down the carbs…fast food…& ahemmm alcohol it would have been well worth the loan on the time machine for sure.

Lemme tell you, I am not a diet girl, nor do I exercise. At least not since highschool soccer.

However now I am faced with the biggest choice ever; a burger or my fav (or any for that matter!) jeans.

Whats a girl to do??

Anyways, just thought y’all should hear my lil rant and ohh I dunno, maybe some of you have some super-fab tips for me? They say nothing tastes as good as skinny feels but I’m a pretty good cook so?

Other then that life has been…confusing. to say the least. Have you ever gone from knowing (or think ya do at least!) what you want in life, how to get it & when you’ll have it to…………well, the opposite.

Confession Saturday part deux: I feel a lil lost in life right now. I guess with my birthday coming up I am thinking alot about what the future will hold for a girl like me. One foot on the ground, a lil too dangerous at all the wrong times. I dunno, I feel like I’m living a bad Regina Spektor song.

Does this sum up confession Saturday? Weight lifted off my shoulders? I dunno maybe. Or maybe there’s lots more I’m not fessin up to quite yet.

 

Anywho, I hope everyone has a fantabulous weekend, I know I am def gonna try to lift my spirits with what else but more spirits!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, as well as an amazing New Years!!

I JUST KNOW THE 2012 YEAR IS GOING TO BE FULL OF FABULOUS TIMES & ONE OF A KIND MOMENTS!

My first two weeks of the New Year have already been chock full of good times with friends & family!

So besides working & drinking & sleeping & family time…..I have been SHOPPING! & making hecka wishlists for my birthday.

So far the top of the list includes:

every girl needs these for the boat!

black & brown is so the new black for spring 2012

PSA: I will be bringing these back into style

so girly, so practical...sounds like someone I know!

So there ya have it,  a lil bit of this, a tad splash of that and voila! Thats what surfing pinterest gets you!
